Hello! My name is June.
-
I am a visual communications specialist who lives in Southern California. My skillset includes graphic design, copyediting, proofreading, project management, illustration, and more.
-
Here’s a little about me.
-
Growing up, my favorite book was “The Westing Game” by Ellen Raskin, because of this spread. It introduced me to the power of typography—type has personality!
-
I practice drawing and lettering in my free time.
-
Here’s a sample of the work I’ve done professionally.
-
I’ve been working with the Academy of Art University for over 10 years, contributing to their art newspaper. I am the designer, proofreader, and fact-checker.
-
We produced more than 125 newspapers before the publication transitioned online in 2020. My responsibilities shifted to primarily editing, although we still print occasional special editions to celebrate the Academy’s biggest events.
-
I maintain a referral freelance design and editing business. These were produced for the Fascia Research Society. The exhibition catalog was printed for their 2022 congress. The business cards were printed to promote their upcoming Rio summit.
-
I designed the 300+ page yoga teacher training manual for Soul Strong Yoga, in addition to refining their style guide, designing supplemental manuals for their business mentorship and beginners, and working on their Squarespace site.
-
Hearthfire Collective retained my services shortly after to design their prenatal yoga manual. I also contributed some illustrations (like the one shown here).
-
For the last year and a half, I have been working with Studio Hinrichs as a project manager. We recently published “Narrative Design: A 50 Year Perspective.”
-
Studio Hinrichs produces a typographic calendar every year. I coordinate shipments to Amazon warehouses and mail hundreds of these to clients and friends of the studio.
-
I sometimes contribute as a designer and editor.
-
Here’s what I’ve been working on for my own enrichment.
-
Building a responsive personal website using Eleventy.
-
Editing my father’s manuscript for eventual publication.
-
Now, imagine what we could do together...
